1- Why participate in SASMO?

Answer: The contest is designed to make students fall in love with math again. Furthermore, SASMO contest fits nicely into the school curriculum with a high focus on non-routine problem sums. A positive outcome of preparing for SASMO is students are better prepared for international examinations. All SASMO participants will receive a certificate of participation.

2- Will questions be solved by a team or individually?

Answer: No team work is required. Individual work only.

 

3- Is the competition based on grade or on age?

Answer: The competition is based on grade.

 

4- Are grade 12 students eligible to participate in the competition?

Answer: No. The competition is open to students from Grade 2 to Grade 11 only.

 

5- What is next for students who win a medal in SASMO 2016 competition?

Answer: Those who win Gold, Silver and Bronze Medals in SASMO 2016 will go to Singapore to participate in SIMOC (Singapore International Mathematics Olympiad Challenge)

 

6- The school application is $20. Is that the cost per student or for the group of students ?

Answer: It is the cost per student
